Dennis the Menace Already Rocks the Antenna TV Network; Now, How About The Flintstones?

Updated in August 2022

"Mr. Wilson!" The Dennis the Menace marathon is currently airing on the Antenna TV network. One of the later episodes, "The Uninvited Guest," which concerns the 'phantom burglar,' and a frog named Sam is on now. Gale Gordon stars as John Wilson, brother of George Wilson, played by Joseph Kearns.

Dennis the Menace, Leave it to Beaver, Seinfeld and The King of Queens are my favorite all-time TV shows. One similarity that these programs all share is the use of interesting sub-plots. Although it was basically marketed as a kids show, every episode of  Dennis the Menace featured well-written plots and sub-plots that are intelligent and entertaining.

I really wish that the Antenna TV network would continue to air Dennis the Menace every night. It's a lot better than any of the new shows that are on broadcast TV.

Will the Antenna TV network ever air My Three Sons, Julia, Room 222 or The Flintstones? Just a guess, but I think that these shows would be well-received.

The Flintstones is one of the very few television series that I would truly consider to be "timeless." I'm just guessing, but I imagine that many young people today find the Flintstones to be just as entertaining as their 1960s counterparts did.

The Flintstones was the first prime-time, cartoon series to air on network television. The show aired from 1960 until 1966. According to en.wikipedia.org, the Flintstones series was inspired by The Honeymooners program, which starred the legendary Jackie Gleason.

In the Hartford, Connecticut, area, the Antenna TV network is located at Channel 61.2 on the digital dial. The network is owned by the Nexstar Media Group, and it began operations in August 2010. The channel is located right next to the local FOX affiliate on the digital dial here in Hartford.

A pleasing mix of vintage TV comedy shows are shown 24-hours-a-day on the Antenna TV network. Two episodes of each program are shown back-to-back, which gives you time to get into it.

You will also find many references to the King of Queens TV show in the articles on "Jelly Donuts in Hartford, Connecticut."  When the King of Queens ran in prime time on CBS, I didn't really watch it very often. It wasn't until FOX started airing reruns of the show at midnight several years ago, that I began appreciating how funny it really is.

Hopefully, you'll find something funny and/or memorable on the site; new content is being added regularly.

The Jelly Donuts Actually Serve as a Metaphor, of Sorts.

Unfortunately, many of the donuts that I purchase from Hartford-area Dunkin' shops these days, taste an awful lot like fryalator grease. The donuts that I've recently gotten from Shop Rite and Big Y supermarkets have been a lot better than Dunkin's donuts.
For many years, donut-lovers in Connecticut could satisfy their cravings by purchasing donuts from Dunkin' Donuts, the Whole Donut, or other, small donut shops that are situated throughout the state.
Donuts are one of the most ubiquitous of American taste treats, and people of all ages really love eating them. As a kid, I loved eating donuts from the many Bess Eaton donut shops that used to be common in Connecticut.
There used to be lots of Whole Donut shops in Connecticut, and their donuts have always been very good. A Google search for "Whole Donut Shops in CT-2022" reveals that Whole Donut shops are still operating in Canton and Enfield, Connecticut in 2022.
Although this blog title refers to jelly donuts, the jelly donuts actually serve as a metaphor, of sorts. The site really celebrates all types of fun foods, especially jelly donuts. Unusual and/or humorous news stories, cool videos, paintings and more can also be found on "Jelly Donuts in Hartford, Connecticut."
In most of the articles on this site, an underlying sense of humor is offered, but the presentation is often subtle.
